StormGeo
StormGeo is a Norwegian company, a world-leading provider of meteorological services. It provides meteorological services, particularly to the offshore, renewable energy, shipping, business and media industries.
Extensive user research was necessary in order to collect the needs of all the different types of users. The challenge during the research phase was to model the insights in a meaningful way, in order to simplify the functionality requirement and design choices. Personas has been used in order to align the design team and the client on the needs and goals of the main final users. Moreover the huge UX challenge consisted in the representation of weather data on different layers through different visualisation formats.
The solution: a clear and user friendly interface that allows all users to customize with flexibility the visualized info on their dashboard. A predictive system understands when the user might need to display certain information and proactively proposes it, anticipating needs and speeding up the company's operational decisions.
